about

Originally titled "A 9/11 Every Day" which is from the Songfight.org website (have you heard of it?) I've retitled it to better suit the feeling I get when I listen back to this song. It's kind of a double edge sword. A song about making art out of misery. And also having the guts to write some songs that are a bit raw.. maybe touch a nerve a little too much. Maybe it's more about writing about those little moments when you're not who you usually are. You know, that moment when you're really angry with someone you love. Or the time you remember what happened to you as a kid. Shit happens. Sometimes it ends up in a song.

Written in January 2021

lyrics

All the music I play
All night and all day
Well, I don't know
And I can't say

All the songs I have sung
And the guitar I strum
They don't know
What I have become

I'm cold enough to observe it
Cold enough to write it down
I sing my songs as the world is burning down

All the words that I write
In love and in spite
I don't know
The wrong from the right

And the stories I tell
About heaven and hell
Well, I don't know
If I've done them well

I'm cold enough to observe it
Cold enough to write 'em down
I sing my songs as the world is burning down

I'm cold enough to observe it
Cold enough to write it down
I sing my songs as the world is burning down

Not only did T.C. Elliott write, perform, record and produce this track, he also wrote this little blurb so you'd find out who did all that.

about

T.C. Elliott Columbia, Missouri

If Neil Young and The Holy Modal Rounders had a litter of baby songwriters then T.C. Elliott would be the runt of the litter.

T.C. has written over 1100 songs and at least one of them doesn't suck.
