about

One of the albums my father would play regularly, often when he’d been drinking, was the Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie album “Together In Concert” from the early 1970’s which had a version of “Deportees” by Arlo Guthrie. I’ve used the lyric from Arlo's version with the exception of one verse that I omitted before the last chorus. While I like that the image of rotting dry leaves reminds me of the images in ‘Strange Fruit’ by Billie Holiday, I feel that ending on the verse that includes the plane crash, as the original does, is more effective.

about

T.C. Elliott Columbia, Missouri

If Neil Young and The Holy Modal Rounders had a litter of baby songwriters then T.C. Elliott would be the runt of the litter.

T.C. has written over 1100 songs and at least one of them doesn't suck.
